What Waivers and Releases do we need to sign?

Campers are required to electronically sign a waiver and release form as part of registration.

You can download and read the Waiver and Release forms here:

 What is the refund policy?

The Caterpillar Club registration is non refundable, except for in the case your child becomes so ill that they can not participate. A doctor's note is required for refund.

My child has no prior riding experience, is this camp appropriate?

Yes! Children with no prior riding experience are welcome. Monarch camps are a great way to learn the basics of riding, and how to interact with horses!

What does my child need to bring to Caterpillar Club?

  • Long fitted pants or breeches
  • Low heeled sturdy boots
  • Refillable water bottle

Are there other animals at the camp besides ponies and horses?

Yes the barn is dog friendly and there will be multiple dogs at the barn during camp. If you child is afraid of dogs please let us know in advance.

How does the shuttle/van service work?

You can sign up for the shuttle when you sign up for Caterpillar Club. There are only 7 spots on the van each week and they fill up fast so make sure to sign up for the shuttle. The van picks up at 3.30 and drops off at 7. The exact location is usually at one of the elementary schools in Westlake, and will depend on attendance. The shuttle fee is $225 for the Fall semester.

 How do make-up lessons work?

Due to limitation in ring time, pony and instructor availability, as a general policy we do not offer makeup lessons if a rider needs to be out due to illness or other commitments. However, we do offer weekly public group lessons one additional week, and if you discuss availability with the Caterpillar Club leaders, we may be able to arrange a makeup lesson in one of those groups. You are always welcome to schedule a private lesson with one of the Monarch instructors as availability allows.

If Caterpillar Club needs to cancel due to inclement weather, we usually offer a makeup date at the end of the semester.
